CareTail is a pet care tracker app designed to help users organize pet profiles, care reminders, health notes, documents, and care history.
CareTail may store information that you enter about your pets, including pet names, species, breed, weight, care reminders, health diary notes, symptoms, documents, and related records.
In the current version, CareTail stores your pet care data locally on your device. CareTail does not require an account and does not use cloud sync in this MVP version.
If you choose to attach documents or files, CareTail uses the Android document picker. The app stores a local reference to the selected file so you can access it from the app. CareTail does not upload these files to a server.
CareTail may request notification permission to send local care reminders for vaccines, medication, grooming, food, vet visits, or other pet care tasks. These reminders are generated locally on your device.
CareTail may offer optional Premium subscriptions through Google Play Billing.
Subscription purchases and payment processing are handled by Google Play. CareTail does not collect or store your credit card or payment card details.
CareTail may store subscription entitlement status locally so Premium features can be unlocked when you have an active subscription.
CareTail does not sell your personal data.
CareTail does not share your locally stored pet care data with third parties.
Some app functionality may rely on Google services, such as Google Play Billing, Google Play In-App Review, and Firebase Authentication for optional Google Sign-In. These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy policies.
You can delete local CareTail data from within the app settings. This removes pet profiles, reminders, health notes, and document records stored by the app on your device. Deleting document records does not delete the original files from your device storage.
CareTail supports optional Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. You can use CareTail without creating an account or signing in.
If you choose to sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication may process account information such as your Google account email address, display name, profile photo, and unique user ID.
Google Sign-In is used only for account identity and as a foundation for future backup and sync features. CareTail does not upload your pet care records to our own cloud database in this version.
If you sign in with Google, you can delete your CareTail account from within the app:
You can choose to delete only your account sign-in or delete your account sign-in and local app data. Signing out or deleting your account does not delete local pet care records unless you explicitly choose to delete local app data.
